Patient-121
No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital
Patient--121 saw Dr. Ronald Hillock at Nevada Orthopedic. Scheduling problems and the voicemail box is full so you cannot leave a message. Dr. Hillock was cold and rushed. Felt like he had zero time to listen to the patient. An assistant gave the patient a misplaced injection.
This whole office has some issues with scheduling as you cannot get ahold of them by phone. They rescheduled me twice after I had taken a PTO day from work.
Then they called me the day before my appointment and left a message regarding my second rescheduling telling me they need to push it back even more and left me a number to call --- which no one ever picks up and the mailbox is full which you can't leave a message.
Anyhow, that was just the scheduling issues.
As for Dr Hillock, I was extremely disappointed in my visit with him. He seemed extremely cold and rushed. I felt as if he had zero time and that I was a bother to him. I had lingering hip issue and pain that comes and goes.
Rather than explaining my situation little more clearly and looking into my X-rays, it took literally few minutes of him walking into the room to diagnose and give me a treatment and walking back out.
No patient skills what so ever.
He recommended an injection and PT (physical therapy).
The assistant came in to give me an injection. He was much nicer, however, I do not think they gave me the injection in the right area as I still have pain in my hip several days after the injection.
Not sure what is going on with the overall system of care these days but these things seem to happen more often where getting personal care from a doctor that really cares for their patients becoming hard to find.
Extremely disappointing.
If you walk into a physician’s office who wants to give you a "blind" injection (without using an ultrasound to guide the needle), then politely ask for your chart and walk out.
As a patient, there is simply no reason to tolerate a blind injection.

Read the story of Patient-116 and learn about "blind" injections which should not be done. Just walk out.

Just say NO to Nevada Orthopedic and just say NO to Dr. Ronald Hillock
