Patient-35

Patient was in Sunrise Hospital for 8 days. She was abused (and she reported it) and was injured when the staff ripped out a tube and IVs, and she did not receive proper medical care. They tried to prevent her from leaving.

My 8-day nightmare (at Sunrise Hospital).

I was abused and reported it, but they are trying to brush it under the rug.

I did not receive proper treatment and doctors' orders were ignored.

I have physical damage from a nurse illegally forcing a tube that was restricted by a doctor.

I was left in a room with no care and a stranger's feces for several days.

I was screamed at for the call light being pressed by my roommate. It was wired to my bed because the rooms aren't properly turned into a two-person room.

I was kept awake for days. I refused PT and had my IVs smashed by the staff.

They left me sitting in a chair with a needle in my arm and needles in my lap for several hours.

I was refused transfer to a different room or different hospital.

I was denied medicine to avoid an allergic reaction.

I had a tube ripped from my face and never repaired.

Do NOT go to Sunrise Hospital unless you are okay with not making it home.

We literally had to cause a scene in the hallway to be released from the hospital.

I was sent home with basically no aftercare -- which was still better than the poor care I received at Sunrise Hospital.

These are just the highlights of the awful treatment I endured while at Sunrise Hospital.
