Patient-357
No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital
Patient-357 went to Sunrise Hospital. Patient waited 14 hours to be moved to a hall bed, then waited some more. No food for over 24 hours. Patient's family was forced to wear masks (in 2023) even though there were a lot of unmasked people walking around. Patient's family DOES NOT recommend Sunrise Hospital.
Patient-357 went to Sunrise Hospital. (Once again, this was a visitor from out of town who was taken by ambulance to Sunrise Hospital. Patients should be allowed to choose which hospital.)
Patient's family says:
As someone who worked as a nurse in very busy Emergency Rooms for over a decade, I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the care received at this hospital.
I don't understand how my mother --- after waiting over 14 hours to be admitted now moves to a hall bed to wait some more.
She is still confused and unable to ambulate and placed on "modified" contact precautions.
They gave us masks to wear while in the room, but now it's okay to be in the hall with lots of unmasked people walking around.
Additionally, the impatient doctor told us at 15:00 (3:00 p.m.) they would be placing orders for a diet and IV medications and other care.
However, now it's 8:40 p.m. and, after asking since about 6:00 p.m., they are still "looking up the chart" to see if she can eat. Really???
She is diabetic, and she hasn't had a real meal since being confused and out of it for well over 24 hours!!!
I DO NOT recommend Sunrise Hospital.
We are only here because we are from out of town, and she couldn't walk, so we had to call EMS (an ambulance).

This is a stock photo showing multiple patients waiting in hall beds in the hospital.
