No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital
Patient-305 went to Dr. Holman Chan at Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center. Absolutely terrible experience. Dr. Chan said the patient needed surgery on both shoulders. However, he would not help him and told him he needs to see a sports injury specialist --- but Dr. Chan would NOT give the patient a referral. Patient asked for assistive devices, but Dr. Chan refused to provide anything. Patient has never felt so dismissed by a doctor in his entire life.

Absolutely terrible!!!
The Emergency Room recommended me here as "Urgent," but I had to wait 3 weeks for my appointment with Dr. Holman Chan.
Dr. Chan told me instantly "Bad news. You need surgery on both shoulders, but they recommended you to the wrong place. You need a sports injury specialist."
I asked a few questions and his actual responses were:
"It doesn't matter" and "You need surgery anyway, so it doesn't matter."
I went home and spent 2 hours finding somewhere that would take my insurance plan, but they needed a referral before I can see them.
So, I called Dr. Chan's referral coordinator, and she told me "He won't write you a referral. You need to schedule an appointment with your primary care doctor and get a referral from them."
THEN WHY DID THE HOSPITAL REFER ME HERE AS URGENT FOR ME TO WAIT 3 WEEKS AND GET TOLD I'M IN THE WRONG PLACE. BUT THEN YOU WON'T GIVE ME A REFERRAL TO SAVE ME MONTHS WHEN I HAVE ALREADY WASTED 3 WEEKS?!?!
Lastly, the front desk and original nurse told me if he didn't have a shoulder brace for me, they could send to to an office downstairs that had all of that type of stuff.
When I asked Dr. Chan about that, he said he had never seen a shoulder brace. (That is highly unlikely in his line of work.) And he said that "downstairs" doesn't carry slings or braces so I could not get one from them. He told me to go online and buy one.
I said, "I understand that, but I had to quit my job due to this injury and have no income, so I just thought I would ask."
He replied, "It's only $15-20 on Amazon."
Wow!!!!
I have never, in my 40 years of life, felt so dismissed and just BLAH by a doctor.

He seemed like he had no interest in even talking to me because "You're not my patient. You're in the wrong place."
