Patient-352
No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital
Patient-352 went to Sunrise Hospital by ambulance because she was having seizures while watching a show at the Las Vegas Sphere. Sunrise Hospital would NOT allow her sister to be with her. A nurse threw cold water on the patient and told her to quit faking it!! They sedated the patient and released her the next morning (without medical care to determine the cause of the seizures). Shameful treatment!! Read the warnings describing how some people have dizziness, motion sickness and seizures when attending shows at the Las Vegas Sphere.

Patient's friend says:
My friend had a medical emergency at a show at the Sphere last night.
She was taken to the Sunrise Hospital Emergency Room by ambulance.
She was having seizures and having trouble communicating.
She was scared!!
They would NOT allow her sister to be with her.
A nurse threw cold water on her and told her to quit faking it!!
The same nurse wanted to give her a shot. She said NO because of the water incident.
The nurse told her she would have police come in and pin her arms down and give the shot to her anyway. What?!?!?
She was having seizures and didn't know why and was terrified!! And this was their course of treatment?!?!
They sedated her and kept her under observation.
Then they released her at 7:30 a,m.

WARNING TO READERS
This is a warning about visiting the Las Vegas Sphere!! It can cause dizziness, motion sickness and seizures in some people.
Read the story about Brian Albin who collapsed while attending a show at the Las Vegas Sphere.
What happened to Brian is known as a "photosensitive seizure." This is also likely what happened to the patient on this page (Patient-352) who had seizures when she attended a show at the Las Vegas Sphere.
Dr. Raj Dasgupta was quoted in the article and said:
- Some people have an underlying sensitivity to flashing lights or certain patterns and just don't know it until they are exposed to something extreme.
- A venue with massive, bright wraparound screens and booming sound is about as intense as it gets, so it can trigger this type of reaction.
- The biggest culprits are strobes flashing 3 to 30 times per second, super-bright visuals that fill your entire field of view, and rapid scene changes that don't give your brain a break.
- High-contrast patterns, like black-and-white stripes or grids, can also set off a reaction, especially when combined with those other effects.
He explained further, saying that:
- Anything that stresses or excites the brain makes seizures more likely.
- Skipping sleep, flying across time zones, showing up dehydrated, or loading up on alcohol, caffeine, or other substances is basically giving your brain less buffer.
The Las Vegas Sphere provides a warning to guests, saying:
- Concerts may include elements such as haptics, movement sensations, flashing lights, intense lighting, visual effects, loud noises, falling and flying objects, projectiles, pyrotechnics and atmospheric simulations such as fog, wind, bubbles, mist and scent.
- Such elements may aggravate certain medical or physical conditions, and guests should take into consideration if they have a history of discomfort or physical symptoms when experiencing these elements.
- If you have any concerns and/or are pregnant, you should consult with your physician prior to attending an immersive experience.
