No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital
Patient-217 went to Sunrise Hospital. Patient had a horrible experience, and they lied on his medical records. He says DO NOT GO TO THIS EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. YOU WILL RECEIVE BETTER, MORE HUMANE CARE IN A PRISON INFIRMARY!! Patient says he would crawl in agony to another hospital before voluntarily going back to Sunrise Hospital!!
Unless you're carrying a limb that's been severed, or you've turned blue with chest pains, or you're deep in labor AND there ISN'T another hospital within, say, an hour's drive-- where you would get much better medical care-- DO NOT GO TO THIS EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT!!
You will receive much better, more humane care in a PRISON INFIRMARY!!
As a transfer patient from another hospital, I spent 18 hours (well, that's an exaggeration....it was really just 17 hours and 38 minutes) in this ER waiting to be cared for.
I won't even go into what happened from there --- stepping on broken glass in my room, botched IVs in someone with enormous junkie veins, ad nauseum, etc.
Hospital records sent directly to my primary care physician said I was "DISCHARGED from E.D. after 12 hours." That's a lie.
I was admitted for 3 days!!
I would crawl in agony to another hospital before voluntarily going back to Sunrise Hospital!!
This Emergency department is not the place to go for emergency care. Period.
And, yes, this was all mentioned to the hospital staff.

NOTE TO READERS: You can choose to leave a hospital. Just ask for the AMA form (AMA means "against medical advice.") Comments posted on review websites have stated that Sunrise Hospital will try to force you to stay using scare tactics such as telling you that insurance won't pay if you leave. If you are not getting proper medical care or are being harmed or threatened, YOU CAN LEAVE SUNRISE HOSPITAL and go to a better hospital.
