Patient-136

No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital

Patient--136 was taken to Sunrise Hospital on New Year's Day. They discovered she had blood clots in her left leg and her lungs. She was admitted but there were no beds, so she was left in a hallway --- lined up with other patients, like cattle. She was mistreated and ridiculed by the staff because she did not have health insurance.

The patient's story is told by her husband.

I took my wife to Sunrise Hospital on New Year's Day.

It was discovered she had blood clots in her left leg and her lungs.

She was admitted, but no beds were available, so she had to sleep in a noisy hallway (with other patients), lined up like cattle.

They did not give her anything. She could have died all because she had no insurance at that time.

She was taken to surgery to remove the clots from her lungs and then put in a room.

The next day, she went back to surgery to remove the clots from her left leg.

Still, she was treated poorly due to not having insurance, and I even heard the nursing staff making comments about my wife have no insurance.

They said, "She is the one with no insurance."

I could NOT believe it.

This place is not a good place to get medical help.
