No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital
Patient-222 went to Sunrise Hospital. Very bad experience. Staff was disrespectful. Patient had a conversation with the hospital and explained what happened, but it was obvious that nothing would be done, and there has been no follow-up. Patient says it is clear that staff can do whatever they want because no one is holding them accountable.

Very bad experience.
I had a male nurse who was very disrespectful. When I asked for a different nurse or asked to speak to the doctor, the male nurse got mad and called security and had me escorted out to the lobby.
It was very disrespectful and embarrassing.
The hospital called me after 4 or 5 days to talk to me about the situation, but I could tell the were not going to do anything about the situation whatsoever --- just by the conversation --- and I haven't heard anything back from them.
No updates.
No nothing.
Just a horrible situation and what's why nurses feel like they can be rude to patients like that because no one is holding them accountable for the things they are doing.
That male nurse should have been fired (or written up), but it was clear that nothing was done.
Code of Ethics for Nurses
Sunrise Hospital needs to remind their nursing staff about the Code of Ethics and only hire and retain employees who follow this Code.
In the healthcare profession, nurses hold positions of trust and responsibility. This trust extends not only to patient care but also to upholding the ethical and legal standards that govern their profession. You are a nurse 24/7 and are held to ethical standards whether at work or personal life.
The American Nurses Association, 2025 Code of Ethics for Nurses, contains 10 Provisions, as follows:
- Dignity and Respect. The nurse practices with compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth, and unique attributes of every person.
- Primary Commitment. A nurse’s primary commitment is to the recipient(s) of nursing care, whether an individual, family, group, community, or population.
- Trust and Advocacy. The nurse establishes a trusting relationship and advocates for the rights, health, and safety of recipient(s) of nursing care.
- Responsibility and Accountability for Practice. Nurses have authority over nursing practice and are responsible and accountable for their practice consistent with their obligations to promote health, prevent illness, and provide optimal care.
- Duties to Self. The nurse has moral duties to self as a person of inherent dignity and worth including an expectation of a safe place to work that fosters flourishing, authenticity of self at work, and
self-respect through integrity and professional competence. - Ethical Work Environments. Nurses, through individual and collective effort, establish, maintain, and improve the ethical environment of the work setting that affects nursing care and the well-being of nurses.
- Knowledge Development and Social Policy. Nurses advance the profession through multiple approaches to knowledge development, professional standards, and the generation of policies for nursing, health, and social concerns.
- Collaborative Relationships. Nurses build collaborative relationships and networks with nurses, other healthcare and non-healthcare disciplines, and the public to achieve greater ends.
- Commitment to Society and Social Justice. Nurses and their professional organizations work to enact and resource practices, policies, and legislation to promote social justice, eliminate health inequities, and facilitate human flourishing.
- A Global Nursing Community. Nursing, through organizations and associations, participates in the global nursing and health community to promote human and environmental health, well-being, and flourishing.
