Patient-330 went to Dr. Ronald Hillock at Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center. Hip replacement was a nightmare. Patient's leg was 2 inches short after the first surgery. My hip replacement was a nightmare.
It was nearly a year of pain before I realized my leg was nearly 2 inches short after surgery.
I had to do it all over again a year later to get my length back.
The second surgery was even worse as he broke my femur above the knee which was even more painful than the hip, and it’s still a little short.
Over 2 years later, I still have pain in my hip and above my knee, and I still can’t lift my leg to get in my truck.
Seems like maybe he was trying to do too many surgeries each day.
I am not happy about it at all.
What Is the Risk of Femur Fracture
During Hip Replacement?
- Femur fractures during hip replacement may result from complications or possible medical negligence.
- Intraoperative fractures occur during surgery, while postoperative fractures occur during recovery.
- Surgical errors, weak bone health, defective implants, and recovery trauma can contribute to fractures.
- Possible malpractice may involve failure to meet medical standards or inadequate patient care.
A femur fracture during hip replacement surgery may raise concerns about medical malpractice, particularly if it was caused by a surgeon’s negligence or failure to meet medical standards.
While some fractures are unavoidable due to patient-specific factors or unforeseen complications, others may result from improper surgical techniques, poor planning, or inadequate post-operative care.
