Patient-316

No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital

Patient-316 went to Dr. Bradley Baker at Nevada Orthopedic. DO NOT GO HERE!! Horrible experience. Dr. Baker was dismissive and provided very poor care. He ignored or overlooked the fact the anchor screw had come out of the MCL and was floating inside the patient's knee. The patient left and went to Dr. Bascharon at Orthopedic & Sports Medicine where she received excellent medical care and was treated with compassion. And Dr. Baker operates out of a surgery center which was 3 times the cost compared to Dr. Bascharon who did my operation in the hospital.

Patient-316 went to Dr. Bradley Baker at Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center for surgery on her ACL. The patient learned after the surgery that Dr. Baker had also operated on her MCL and her meniscus. There were mistakes and complications.

DO NOT GO HERE!!

Save yourself a horrible experience and just go see Dr. Bascharon at Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Institute of Las Vegas. You will save yourself a ton of money too by avoiding the surgery center and be treated like an actual human being.

I had an ACL  repair, along with an internal brace put on my MCL.

At my 6-month post-op visit, I told Dr. Baker there was a weird lump that was tender to the touch on the outside over the MCL scar.

He dismissed my concern and said it was probably scar tissue and cleared me to return to sport.

I couldn't even run at this point.

So I pushed myself in physical therapy, and my knee started hurting in the patella and my thigh started atrophying, and we couldn't figure out why.

I went and got a second opinion from Dr. Bascharon because I was done with Dr. Baker and his dismissive and uncaring approach at this point.

Turns out, THE ANCHOR SCREW HAD COME OUT OF THE MCL and was floating in my knee and scratching on the tendon, and the result was that my VMO muscle just shut off and stopped firing because the pain of the displaced screw.

Because of this, I now have a giant hole in my patella cartilage and permanent arthritis.

Thank you so so much Dr. Baker for not listening to me and as a result, I now have to live with permanent arthritis for the rest of my life!!!

If Dr. Baker would have listened to my concern and investigated the giant lump in my knee, we could have found out the screw had come out and taken it out right away instead of me pushing myself for 3 months in physical therapy (PT)  because he told me it was just scar tissue.

I had Dr. Bascharon complete my surgery to remove the dislodged screw and she is an incredible doctor and surgeon. She called my husband in the surgery room as soon as she was done to update him.

When I got my first surgery with Dr. Baker, I only knew he was going to repair my ACL and he said he would fix anything else in there if needed...but I didn't find out until later he fixed the MCL and my meniscus as well.

Don't you think you should talk to your patient or the person picking them up and let them know what you did?!?!

On another note, Dr. Baker's office is not empathetic or compassionate at all.

It was a night and day experience going to Dr. Bascharon. She takes her time, gives you a handicap parking pass, doesn't make you feel like an inconvenience or stupid for asking questions and just all around a pleasant experience.

Additionally, Dr. Baker operates at a surgery center which is triple the cost. Dr. Bascharon operates at a hospital, so it was $1500 compared to $4500 for the procedure with Dr. Baker.

Save yourself time and money, and also be treated compassionately by going to see Dr. Bascharon at Orthopedic Sports and Medicine Institute of Las Vegas. You will be so much happier you did.

And lastly, Dr. Baker is an MD, and Dr. Bascharon is a DO...which makes a huge difference. A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) has additional training in the musculoskeletal system.

Dr. Bascharon also utilizes mesenchymal stem cell injections, which help regenerate tissue growth instead of just putting a bandaid on with a cortisone injection. She is focused on patient outcomes!!

AVOID DR BAKER AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
