Patient-45
No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital
Patient-45 had surgery by Dr. Bradford to remove scar tissue from her knee. Her leg is painful and swollen, and she now has to use a wheelchair. Dr. Bradford will not help the patient or take accountability, and his partners ("the good ol' boy network") are protecting him.
My review pertains specifically to Dr. Michael
Bradford, his support staff, and Senior Dimensions "health" care.
In September 2014, my mother underwent a "routine" outpatient surgery with Dr.
Bradford to remove scar tissue from her knee, which had previously undergone a complete rebuild performed by Dr. Gary Morris in the same office back in 2009. After five years of pain and poor functionality, it came as a highly recommended procedure to restore mobility in that leg.
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong on so many levels.... I was against the idea, but my mother was 84 yrs-old at the time and believed the doctor's assurances of a quick fix.
Long story short, she walked into the outpatient surgical center on Charleston (albeit with the use of a cane) and basically has never walked unaided again.
She slept laying flat in her bed the night before surgery and has never been able to lay flat since! The pain has escalated to unbearable even with the use of strong doses of hydrocodone and gabapentin AND Tylenol.
Her leg is swollen to an otherworldly proportion and has had to be drained or injected with useless steroids multiple times. The cane has turned into a walker and will change to a wheelchair soon.
And all this time,
Dr. Bradford refuses to acknowledge his part in creating this disaster.
Truth be told, we have not returned to Nevada Orthopedic in the better part of a year, because Dr. Bradford's staff (Raphael) often bordered on hostile with my mother and in response to her questions and inquiries to see the doctor to achieve some resolution or genuine pain management.
There was a definite sense of them trying to protect the boss.
For his part, Dr. Morris deferred to Dr. Bradford, and others touted his great track record for fear of slighting a fellow colleague. Okay, fine... It's a good ol' boy network.
Doctors are not gods and patients should not be talked into expensive procedures to prop up a business.
And when they do, for Christ's sake, don't kick the can down the road until the patient stops calling. Grow a pair and get her the right help.
Several studies have shown that more than 50 percent of doctors will fail to disclose or lie about medical errors that they or their colleagues have made.
In addition to failures to disclose, another related issue is lying on the stand while under oath about the medical negligence. This may include the doctor who is the defendant in the lawsuit, the medical staff who was working with the doctor or other doctors who are called to the stand by the defense.
When doctors fail to speak up when they observe another doctor engaging in medical malpractice, or they actively help a colleague cover up errors, they can cause a patient to experience additional injuries.

Just say NO to Sunrise Hospital
and just say NO to Dr. Michael Bradford
