Patient-350

No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital

Patient-350 went to Sunrise Hospital. The level of care and communication is beyond deplorable!! Patient coded, but the family was NOT notified. A nurse advised the family (wrongly) to stop treatment and move him to hospice. The family did NOT accept that bad advice. They removed the patient from Sunrise Hospital, and he is recovering in a better facility.

We are not local (we do not live in Las Vegas), so we depended on staff to keep us updated on our family member.

During their stay, our family member coded, and we were NOT notified by the hospital.

We found out 15 hours later when we called for an update.

Their excuse --- they were too busy to call.

They made us feel back for calling to get reports.

A palliative care nurse called us and told us to stop treatment and send our family member to Hospice Care.

(The family did NOT accept that bad advice and removed the patient from Sunrise Hospital.)

Our family member is now recovering in a better facility.

The hold time to reach the nurses' station in ICU is always at least 20 minutes --- if they even answer.

If they do answer, we are told someone will call back, but they NEVER do.

The level of care and communication is beyond deplorable!!
