Patient-163

No Medical Care and None of His Prescription Medications for 8 days at Sunrise Hospital

Patient-163 was taken to Sunrise Hospital by helicopter. She was left in the hallway while waiting for a room. They took 2 days to do an MRI and 2 more days to get the results. Nurses never checked on her unless she called for them. Patient developed a sore on her back from being in bed for 5 days with very little medical care.

I was life-flighted (by helicopter), so I did not have a choice on which hospital.

I did not like being put in the hallway to wait for a room.

This hospital is so full, they had to open part of the Pediatric Hospital to have rooms available.

I didn't like the fact that an MRI order was put in for STAT, but it took them 2 days to get the test done. And then another 2 days to get the results.

Most of the nurses wouldn't come check on you unless you called them.

In the 5 days I was there, I only had one nurse that I thought was good and two of the helpers who took vitals.

No one else really cared!!!

I got a sore on my back from being in bed for 5 days.

I got a bloody nose and called the nurse. She said "Well don't you have any tissues in there?" I said NO!!

I was in bed, hooked up to an IV, and she wanted me to get up by myself with blood all over my face and hands!!

If I ever need a hospital again, I will go to another hospital!!
