Patient-112

Patient--112 who had a stroke and went to Sunrise Hospital. Nurses violated confidentiality regarding personal legal documents. They gave the documents to other family members and refused to give the documents back to the original family member.

My mother suffered a stroke and was placed on life support (at Sunrise Hospital).

After removing the ventilator and downgrading my mother’s level of care, she was moved to room 5549 in tower 3. Her nurse was RN Lauren. She and her team got personally involved in our family legal affairs and stirred up drama between my siblings.

I personally gave the nurse legal documents to complete and return to me specifically, and when I left the room, she would discuss it with my family members.

Since my mother was unable to make decisions on her own and her life was so fragile, I needed to legally handle my mother’s affairs.

Lauren RN became personally invested in our family affairs.

Lauren RN released legal documents to opposing family members and personally explained what she believed each document was for.

She continued to provide legal advice to my grieving siblings who came into town.

When I returned to collect the legal documents that I had given on behalf of my mother, Lauren had already educated my sister on what she believed the document represented and allowed my sister to take photos of each page of the legal document and later handed them over to her.

This RN Lauren did not act alone. She was the mastermind behind causing so much confusion in our family.

I later contacted the charge nurse and gave a verbal complaint.

I have still not received my legal documents nor a follow-up phone call from the unit.

This is very unethical and should be illegal while our family stands by and watches my mom fight for her life.

The RN nurses on the 5th floor of Tower 3 continued to pin one sibling against another.
